Bottlenecks / Shortcomings

Despite of Government efforts on controlling vehicular pollution, it is not exactly coming down because of various reasons such as:

Pollution by New Vehicles

Government has banned old vehicles but even the relatively newer vehicles emit pollution over period of usage

Inadequate Maintenance

Poor maintenance of vehicles contributes a lot for pollution, not just the age of the vehicle alone

Improper Public Transport

Unorganized and chaotic public transport (except Metro) forces public to use their own transport. Such situation gives rise to vehicular pollution.

Lack of Prevention

Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate only shows the level of pollution but not fully prevent it.

Unavailability

CNG and LPG stations are not widely available as compared to Petrol and Diesel stations.
